Comerica Park welcomes fans for Tigers' Opening Day

Thursday, April 1, 2021, kicked off baseball season in Detroit.

The Detroit Tigers took on Cleveland Indians for Major League Baseball's opening day, winning 3-2.

Fans were able to watch their players inside the ballpark for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic struck.

Per state health department's guidance, the park operated at 20% capacity with about 8,200 fans inside, only a small fraction of the roughly 41,000 that can fit inside Comerica.
