The Western Michigan University Broncos season opening matchup against the Syracuse Orange is going down 6 p.m. Friday night.

WMU Football Head Coach Tim Lester more than a little familiar with the Orange after serving as the Syracuse quarterback’s coach, offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator from 2013 to 2015.

A big recruit by Lester was quarterback Eric Dungey who led the Orange in both rushing and passing in 2017.

Dungey averages over 296 yards of total offense per game, fourth in Atlantic Coast Conference history behind current NFL quarterback Jameis Winston, Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson.
