Western Michigan University head football coach Tim Lester talked with Newschannel 3 Sports Director Andy Pepper about the opening loss to Syracuse and the upcoming game against Michigan.

The Broncos fell to the Syracuse Orange 55-42, with most of the damage done in the opening 30 minutes.

The 97 total points scored at Waldo Stadium was quite the start for the Broncos and Lester talked a bit about the start to the season.

The 2nd half was an entirely different story. Levante Bellamy said that Lester told the players at the half to quote "grab the guy next to you and say you believe.” Lester talked a bit about his pep speech.

The Broncos pulled within six points twice in the 3rd quarter, thanks in great part to Dee Eskridge who had 8 catches for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns. Lester talked a bit about that career high performance.

The Broncos face The University of Michigan Wolverines this weekend for the fifth time since 2001.

The Wolverines opened with a 7-point loss at Notre Dame. Their fourth straight loss dating back to last season.

Lester talked a little bit about Shea Patterson and the challenges of facing another dual threat quarterback.

Pepper and Lester discussed what to see out of the Broncos for week two.
