Portage Central hosting a National Signing day ceremony on Wednesday afternoon for their four Division-1 bound athletes
Three of those athletes will play baseball at the next level.
Luke Leto, ranked as one of the top prospects in the entire state, signed with LSU. The Mustangs shortstop says his decision to head south was solidified after visiting Baton Rouge.
"I loved it as soon as I got there. There is just a ton of things to do. The baseball program is great, and everyone is nice there. I just loved it."
Leto's teammate, pitcher Gavin Brasosky, signed his National Letter of Intent to Tennessee, which means that he could be pitching against Leto in the SEC.
"It would be really fun. I think it's really cool to think that we are on the same team in high school, and now we are gonna face each other in college. It would be really cool to do that."
Outfielder Zach MacDonald signed his NLI to play at Miami (OH). MacDonald says the school was a "perfect fit."
"It's a great program at a great school and I absolutely loved the coaches. They made me feel really welcome, and when I visited campus it just felt like home."
Senior gymnast Darby Lindstrom was recruited to join the Rowing team at Ohio State, and said she couldn't be happier about being a Buckeye.
"I basically just started looking into rowing and talking to different rowing coaches, and Ohio State fit. I want to study aviation in college and they have a good program for that, and they also have a good rowing program."
