New Lions GM plans to build around Stafford

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Brand new Detroit Lions Vice President and General Manager Bob Quinn is making it clear that he plans to build around Matthew Stafford, saying Monday "I think he's the quarterback that we want here for the future."

Stafford blossomed under offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, throwing for 19 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in the final 8 games of the season.

Quinn says his goal is to steadily build the type of winning organization he left behind in New England.
