K-Wings get ready for road trip to Quad City

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We are just over two weeks away from the ECHL's Hockey Heritage Week, hosted by the K-Wings, at Wings Event Center, and throughout the city of Kalamazoo.

Among the highlights is a chance to get up close and personal with the Stanley Cup.

The event runs February 1 through the 6th. You can take pictures with the cup and view a number of trophies and exhibits from the hockey hall of fame.

But before that, the K-Wings will be on the road the next two weekends, starting with Friday night's game at Quad City.

The K-Wings currently sit at 3rd place in the North Division, just three points behind second place Wheeling.

Coach Nick Bootland said Thursday that his team has been bitten exceptionally hard by the injury bug.
