MINNESOTA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Minnesota Vikings' Kicker Blair Walsh is having a tough go-of-it after missing what would have been a game winning field goal in Sunday's playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks.
But a group of Twin Cities' first graders want Blair to know it's really okay.
"I know you can do it. You can win the game," said one.
"You are the best. And maybe you need to practice. Love Cody," said another.
The teachers at Northpoint Elementary School heard kids Monday morning spouting off their parents' feelings on the big loss and decided it would be a teachable moment.
They had the students write letters of encouragement, along with pictures.
They're mailing the gifts to Blair so he can get them as soon as possible.
