(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The final AP college football poll of the year is out, and Michigan State fell from third to sixth, following their shutout loss in the semifinals to National Champion Alabama.

Clemson, Stanford, Ohio State, and Oklahoma all checked in ahead of the Spartans.

The 10-3 Michigan Wolverines, who beat up on Florida in the Citrus Bowl finished 12th (11th Coaches) in Jim Harbaugh's first season in Ann Arbor.

Michigan is also ranked 4th in ESPN's "Way Too Early" top 25 poll for 2016.

Michigan State is 14th, Ohio State 12th.
