As the weather warms and cars are taken out of storage there is the occasional critter that had made a home in the engine compartment, but a northern Michigan resident found over 50 pounds of pine cones in his car.
Kellen Moore arrived at a Gaylord restaurant with a puzzled look on his face and his friend and restaurant manager, Gabe Awrey, knew something was up.
Awrey says after Moore started his air conditioning it made a weird sound prompting him to look under the hood.
Moore said in a Facebook comment that the pine cones had expanded because of the heat from the engine.
Awrey said Moore had bought the car around a month earlier and that the pine cones showed up within that time. They say they are holding a squirrel responsible.
Awrey said the car ran fine after the pine cones were cleaned out.
