GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Grand Rapids Police this morning identified the man who was killed in a drive-by shooting early Sunday.
Larry Materry Moore died at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital after he was rushed there following the shooting. Moore was 29.
Police are seeking anyone with information about the shooting, and encouraging witnesses to call the Silent Observer line (616-774-2345) or visit the Silent Observer website.
The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning when police were called to the intersection of Bates Street and Henry Avenue on reports of "sounds of gunshots." Officers said that as many as 50 to 100 people were outside just after the shots rang out.
A neighbor told Newschannel 3 he heard about 8 shots near the intersection. He said when he looked out his window, he saw a black truck driving off heading north.
As officers were working the shots fired call, they said they received the call from Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital that a 29-year-old man was dropped off by a private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
We're told no suspects have been arrested.
