Police are searching for a group of suspects accused of opening fire during a fight in Kalamazoo that sent one man to the hospital.

Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded about 9 p.m. Wednesday to a shots-fired call at Stadium Drive Apartments.

Officers said when they arrived on scene, they found a 23-year-old man yelling for help and hurt. It was unclear at first whether he had been hit by a bullet during the incident, but police said it appears he was injured in the fight with a group before the gun went off.

The victim was taken to the hospital and was released overnight.

Police are trying to track down the group accused of opening fire during the fight. They describe them as three black men and a black woman inside a silver or gray Chevy Equinox.
