New developments in the case of a former Autism Society board member accused of abusing her 16-year-old son with autism.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) responded to the I-Team after Newschannel 3 uncovered Danny Fielding is in custody.

Fielding is originally from France, and while she's not in the United States illegally, criminal convictions have put her status in jeopardy.

She's served time now both for domestic abuse and child abuse and in an email obtained by the I-Team shows that ICE reached out to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office while Fielding was serving time and issued an immigration detainer to transfer her.

ICE confirmed to Newschannel 3 in a statement that Fielding is in custody.

The statement read:

She is subject to removal proceedings under Section 237 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which makes removable any alien who at any time after admission is convicted of a crime of domestic violence, stalking or a crime of child abuse.
