BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A former Branch County teacher has been charged with six counts of criminal sexual conduct involving a student between the ages of 15 and 16.
Court documents reveal Jason Ferrell engaged in sexual activity with at least one of his drama class students about 15 times while he drove his Jeep from Marshall to Branch County.
Investigators say Ferrell and the victim or victims also exchanged text messages and gifts.
The activity happened between October and November of 2016, as well as another instance in August of the same year.
Ferrell has been charged with four counts of 3rd degree CSC with a student as well as two counts of first degree CSC.
The 43-year-old former Quincy High School teacher was taken into custody Wednesday night.
We were the only crew there as law enforcement searched his home.
