The Grand Rapids police removed a body found along the Grand River on Wednesday.

Police said someone found the body while fishing near Market Avenue Southwest and Frontage Road Southwest about 7 p.m. March 25, 2020 and were able to remove the body with help from the Grand Rapids Fire Department.

An autopsy is expected to be performed on March 26 to determine how the person died.

Police also said the condition of the body would make identification difficult.
