The city of Battle Creek announced Wednesday its participation in its annual holiday toy collections.
Collections support local organizations to help local children enjoy the holidays, city officials said. Both collections seek donations of new, unwrapped toys.
Six of the city's Battle Creek Fire Department stations plan to open their doors to collect toy donations for the Salvation Army from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (with Station 1 open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). People can donate toys at any of the stations through Wednesday, Dec. 18.

- Station 2 – 145 N. Washington Ave.
- Station 3 – 222 Cliff St.
- Station 4 – 8 S. 20th St.
- Station 5 – 1170 W. Michigan Ave.
- Station 6 – 2401 Capital Ave. SW
The city also announced its support to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, with collection boxes at the Police Department and City Hall (34 and 10 N. Division St.).
The Police Department will hold its annual Stuff a Truck event from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6. The location will be in the area of the police station, or Commerce Pointe, across Division Street.
