Battle Creek police have given the all clear after a threat caused an auto parts company to evacuate.

Police said around 6 p.m. that calls were made to both Calhoun County Central Dispatch and to I I Stanley Co. Inc. threatened the building was going to explode.

The company evacuated the building.

Police responded and searched the building with a Calhoun County Sheriff K-9, but didn’t find anything.

The evacuation lasted for around two and a half hours, until police said the company started bringing minimal staff back.

Battle Creek police said, at this time, the threat does not appear to be legitimate.

“We’re still investigating obviously. We still got some information we got to gather, and work with, but at this time, they still made the decision to have employees working,” Battle Creek Police Sgt. Stuart Bell said.

Police provided no further information on who made the threats, but will continue to investigate.
