WASHINGTON(SBG) - One of music’s biggest nights has been postponed!

According to Variety, a Recording Academy rep has confirmed that this year’s Grammy Awards show has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. The Grammy Awards show is annually held in Los Angeles however, the area has seen a rapid spreading of positive cases.

News of the show's postponement comes just a few weeks before the ceremony was set to take place, Jan. 31.

Trevor Noah was slated to host this year's awards show. Beyonce, who had received nine nominations, led the group of musicians with the most nominations. Plans were already set for a limited show for 2021, with no physical audience and only allowing presenters and performers on-site during the show. Nominated artists would also be forced to attend the show virtually, much like the 2020 Emmy Awards where nominees attended remotely.

While no exact date has been given, Rolling Stone has reported that we could see the award show moved to March.
