Buddy Guy added to growing list of performers for National Cherry Festival

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Another big name has been added to the lineup for the National Cherry Festival!

Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame Inductee and legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy will be performing on Tuesday, July 3 on the Pepsi Bay Side Music Stage.

“Buddy Guy turns 82 on July 30th and hasn’t lost a step when it comes to electrifying live audiences”, said Kat Paye, the Executive Director of the National Cherry Festival. “It’s guitar lesson time at the Bay Side Stage”.

Guy will be promoting his latest studio record, The Blues is Alive and Well, which will be released nationwide June 15th.

The album features guest appearances by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards & Jeff Beck and James Bay.

Guy has received seven Grammy Awards, a 2015 Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award, 37 Blues Music Awards, the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, a Kennedy Center Honor and the President National Medal of Arts.

Tickets for the concert go on sale to the public on Friday, May 18.

The National Cherry Festival runs from June 30 to July 7.
